  • We promote the following characteristics in the men and women who lead our country.
  • We are here to help you elevate candidates and our elected officials to meet what we consider a "minimum" standard of leadership.
  • We are here to help you put a magnifying glass to those who are bold enough to lead.
  • We are are here to set a political standard for the people who want to govern our country.
  • We are a group of Republicans, Democrats, Independents and those who do not participate who want a basic set standard for our leaders.
  • We acknowledge that it is difficult to accomplish our simple goals, yet if we commit to these basic values for our leaders then we believe the world will be a better place (regardless of political leanings).

There are certain characteristics that we should all
value in a leader:

1   Compassionate

Shows an understanding of the human condition. Has a track record of public service. Understands the role of leader as a servant of the people.

2   Curious

Education that reflects curiosity. Asks questions. Has a record of finding answers from a variety of sources and opposing opinions. Wants to understand the ideas and positions of both friends and adversaries and how those positions were reached. Wants to know what has been tried across cultures and civilizations. What worked and why? What didn’t and why?

3   Intelligent

Can think clearly about a variety of complicated topics. Organizes thoughts and ideas usefully. Is able to express him or herself clearly in writing and in the spoken word; shown in a high level of being able to effectively communicate with others.

4   Visionary

Uses compassion, intelligence and curiosity to envision new answers to old questions and problems. Willing to think big. We are one of the planet’s great civilizations! We should be leading humanity forward. How will our leaders do this?

5   Responsible

Identifies the pressing issues to be addressed. Leads to solve the pressing issues, then acts with integrity in an open, honest and transparent manner to solve them. In the end takes full responsibility for leading whether they’ve been successful or not.

6   Honorable

Acts with honor and has the courage to suffer the consequences of acting honorably.

7   Charismatic

Ability to inspire and unite diverse people and peoples for a common cause. A person you'd love to have over to dinner and be inspired by their ability to engage you and the other people present.

What's not on this list (and why) »
  1. Patriotic. If a person runs for higher office then that act alone, in and of itself, should demonstrate that they are patriotic; it shows they are committed to this country and our basic values, particularly as established in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States.
  2. Religious. One’s personal belief system is protected as a basic right. The idea of separation of church and state is fundamental to our culture and should not be a litmus test for seekers of higher office.
  3. Attractive. This is half-jokingly on the list — though we find that it is unfortunate that our country has shown a preference to men and women who are attractive.
